B1A4's Baro says the group was just as surprised as the public to see their picture with Hong Ga Hye

Baro revealed B1A4 were just as shocked as the public to see themselves posing with Hong Ga Hye, the woman who has recently been exposed for numerous lies after her interview regarding the Sewol tragedy, in photos from a past concert.



Baro shared during his interview with TV Daily, "[B1A4] suddenly came up on search term ranking so I looked to see what it was about and there was really a photo of us and Hong Ga Hye together. We received many questions on whether or not we knew her identity at the time."


"The members were all dumbfounded. It looks like it happened during a Busan concert, and after concerts, there are a lot of people who are wanting to take photos. So of course, we don't remember it. I think it was one of those photos taken while we were scatterbrained."


As mentioned previously Hong Ga Hye is currently accused of several charges including libel.

Mnet suspends May 1st broadcast of 'M! Countdown' and EXO's 'xoxo EXO'

Mnet has suspended the May 1st broadcast of its music show 'M! Countdown' and EXO's new reality show 'xoxo EXO' as they feel it is still too early to air these shows.

  

CJ E&M stated on the 1st, "'M! Countdown' and 'xoxo EXO' have been suspended."
Like the major broadcast stations, CJ E&M announced that most their produced programs will resume except comedy shows like tvN's 'SNL Korea' and 'Comedy Big League' and music shows. 'TROT X' is still in talks for possibly returning to air.


CJ E&M stated, "We will edit out the laughing sound effects as much as possible... In the case of talk shows, we plan to be careful with the content. We will carefully edit according to the level of appropriateness."

TEEN TOP's Niel and Royal Pirates' James to join UEE on 'Laws of the Jungle' Indian Ocean Island edition

TEEN TOP's Niel and Royal Pirates' James will join After School's UEE, who was previously already mentioned to be in talks, on the 'Laws of the Jungle' Indian Ocean Island edition!



According to multiple entertainment insiders Niel and James are preparing to depart to the Indian Ocean Island for the show. Niel previously was in talks for the Borneo edition but declined it and will join Kim Byung Man's tribe this time with his variety skills while James is expected to be the handsome helper with his height and strength. 


PD Park Mi Yeon told several media outlets that she thought the three would be a good fit for this show and it'd also give James a chance to take on variety as he hasn't had much exposure yet as Royal Pirates is still a new group in Korea.


The 'Laws of the Jungle' Indian Ocean Island edition is set to air this July!

As mentioned previously, 'Billion Dollar Heir' is a drama that portrays the story of a countryside boy who is revealed to be the lost son of a big-time CEO and fights in the battle between heirs.

KDRAMA FEATURE: SECOND LEAD SYNDROME


K-Dramas are a great way to escape for a time, to curl up under a warm blanket and watch two people overcome obstacles and find true love in each others' arms; the leading man with his leading lady. But people often suffer from what's called "Second Lead Syndrome," when the second lead might be more of a catch than the leading man for certain viewers, who then greatly empathize with his pain and have to nurse their own heartbreak when things don't go the way they want.  Here are some great second leads who just didn't make the grade with the women they adored


JI HOO  Boys over Flowers


Quiet and sensitive, Ji Hoo falls for our poor girl Jan Di. When he goes abroad, she gets closer to Jun Pyo and realizes she loves him, not Ji Hoo. Tender and supportive, he would have been an ideal lead instead of the jilted second choice.


JIN GUK  Dream High




This was one of the first dramas I watched, and I fell in love with it. Fortunately, the series was completed before I found it -- the suspense between each episode was killing me! Hye Mi, a singer at the school, has two rivals for her love: Sam Dong, a man from the countryside who is naturally gifted, and Jin Guk, a cocky young man who practically embodies cool. Jin Guk was the first student at the school she met up with, and they were even friends as children.  He saves her wallet and takes a beating from a loan shark's goons for her, and that's in the first episode alone!  However, Sam Dong was the one who got her heart at the end.


JIN SA WOO  Iris




Hyun Jun and Sa Woo were closer than brothers. When they are inducted into the National Security Service, they both fall for the beauteous agent, Seung Hee. A competition begins between the two men, but ultimately Hyun Jun wins out. Sa Woo was loyal and dedicated. Moreover, he wasn't wanted by the authorities (always a plus), and he worked to protect Seung Hee even as he realized she was still hopelessly in love with Hyun Jun.  As her first choice was presumed dead for a year, no one would have blamed her for hooking up with Sa Woo.

He was the second male lead, but instead of the heroine's second choice, he was crushing on the lead male, Yoon Jae.  Thinking of his best friend's happiness over his own, he helped get Shi Won and Yoon Jae together as a couple. He was a stand-up guy who was a great listener (he was Shi Won's confidante) and had an obviously big heart. Unrequited love is a definite tear-jerker.

Chilbong was close to heroine Na Jung, but never as close as he wanted. Though he loved her in a sad, puppy dog way, her heart belonged to Trash. Many even refuse to admit that he was the second lead. Caring, patient, and loving, isn't that what every girl should want?

The product of a dysfunctional family, this bully fell madly in love with the little poor girl, Eun Sang. Kim Woo Bin played this role to the hilt. Cocky and arrogant, he couldn't understand why Eun Sang preferred his weaker, former best friend Kim Tan. He was a bad boy to the end, and maybe that's why he had his supporters. And he even revealed a softer side, which drew us to him even more. A bad boy with a sensitive side...what's not to love?


EUN GYOL  To The Beautiful You




Jae Hee becomes enamored with athlete Tae Joon, and enrolls in his all-boys school disguised as a boy. Soccer player Eun Gyol falls for her and begins to doubt his sexuality. He is a joker, quick with a laugh to lift your mood.The fact that he was willing to turn gay to win her love speaks volumes of his loyalty.


JEREMY  You're Beautiful




Mi Nyeo poses as her twin brother Mi Nam while he recovers from plastic surgery. This is so "he" can make appearances with the band. Lead vocalist Tae Kyung falls for her, but he finds out her true gender. Jeremy falls for her as well without knowing she is a girl. Jeremy is the nicer of the two, always ready to make you laugh, and offering comfort through hard times.  Of course, most people had the "Second Lead Syndrome" with Shin Woo, so perhaps this is more of a "Third Lead Syndrome."

'Triangle' to be JYJ Jaejoong's last project before his enlistment

JYJ's Jaejoong announced at the press conference for MBC's 'Triangle' that the drama would be his last project before he enters into his mandatory military service.

On April 30, Jaejoong revealed, "[Triangle] will be my last project before I enlist." As for when he plans to sign up, he commented, "There's no set time as of now, but first, JYJ's album will come out after June of this year. I think I'll be enlisting after [wrapping up] that as well."

'Triangle' is the work of PD Yoo Chul Yong and writer Choi Wan Kyu,who previously worked together for 'All In' and 'Swallow the Sun'. The drama portrays the story of three brothers Jang Dong Soo (Lee Bum Soo), Heo Young Dahl (Jaejoong), and Yoon Yang Ha (Siwan), who grew up separated with different backgrounds without knowing each other's true identities and meet twenty years later.

Super Junior's Donghae voted as the most 'dinosaur-like' celebrity

Super Junior's Donghae has been voted as the celebrity who looks most like a dinosaur. Though the poll does sound pretty strange, fans of Donghae probably get the inside joke.

A poll asking "Why celebrity has a handsome dinosaur-like appearance that you can't help but to fall for?" was run on the community portal site DCInside from April 22 to the 29th. 'Dinosaur-sang' refers to someone with big eyes, strong features, and a face outline that reminds people of the now extinct animals.

As part of SM Entertaiment's 'dinosaur line', Donghae came out on top with 48.4% (1,072 out of 2,217) votes, CNBLUE's Yonghwa was second with 24.5% (543), Kim Woo Bin was third with 5.9% (130), and INFINITE's Dongwoo, SHINee's Jonghyun, and BIG BANG's T.O.P also made the list.

Shanghai's Dongfang TV reps imported the publication rights for CJ E&M's 'Grandpas Over Flowers', which will feature four veteran stars. Victoria will make a guest appearance as a 'porter angel'.


Her agency SM Entertainment told TV Report, "Victoria will feature as a guest on 'Grandpas Over Flowers'. She will have a similar role to what Sunny had on the Korean 'Grandpas Over Flowers'."

Hong Jin Young revealed she originally made her debut back in 2007 as part of the girl group Swan!

On the April 29th broadcast of KBS 2TV's '1 vs 100', announcer Han Suk Joon asked, "I heard you're from a girl group?" Hong Jin Young revealed, "I promoted with the four-member girl group Swan in 2007... Within two months, we became real swans," hinting that her group disbanded shortly afterwards.


Swan made their debut as a four-member group with Hong Jin Young, Han Ji Na, Heo Yoon Mi, and Kim Yeon Ji with their digital single album 'Booming SWAN!' in 2007.

Actress Han Ye Seul And Agency To Join Zenith Media Contents And Begin Promotions In China

Han Ye Seul's agency, SB Entertainment, will be working with Zenith Media Contents to bring in more actors and groups to China.


After creating a Chinese branch with ZELIX Company, they will begin making alliances with other Chinese entertainment groups to officially begin promoting in the Chinese market.


"We will team up with Chinese entertainment investment firm Zelix Company, and after establishing a Chinese branch, we will establish a strategic alliance with Chinese entertainment power group DMG Entertainment and Pegasus Entertainment Holdings Limited," stated Zenith Media Contents CEO Mr. Kang. 


He continued, "We will then acquire a 30 billion KRW investment and officially enter the Chinese market, which has a population of 1.3 billion."


According to Allkpop, the CEO detailed their upcoming plans as well, stating, "Zenith Media Contents will collaborate with the production company behind the drama 'Yawang,' Verdi Media, in Korea, China, and Japan, and are working on various dramas and films."


Kang continued, "We teamed up with Han Ye Seul's agency and are preparing the label's actors for a Chinese debut. We also plan to debut a 7-member male and female K-POP idol group in China within this year."


They also revealed that they will be releasing both a female and male K-pop idol group in China this year as well as debut actors.


With this collaboration, K-pop and K-entertainment will be able to get even more exposure in other parts of Asia and continue to spread the Hallyu culture. 


Hallyu has been spreading rapidly in China, as seen from the popularity of "You Who Came From the Stars" and the fame that followed the stars of the show. 


Kim Soo Hyun and Korean actor Lee Min Ho from "City Hunter" are reportedly at the top of the Hallyu list. 


Lee Min Ho has been taking over the Hallyu market in Korea with over 21,000,000 Weibo fans, according to Chinatopix.

A rep told Newsen on April 30, "Following the accident, Park Hae Jin thought a lot about what he could do to help. Because the victims' families can't live normal lives due to the accident, he made his donation for their well-being, school expenses, and more."


The rep added, "Donating should be done quietly and not as a competition. That is why he wanted the fact that he donated and the donation amount to be kept secret."


Park Hae Jin will also be helping people onscreen in the upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama 'Doctor Stranger', which will premiere on May 5!

B.A.P Exclusive! Himchan Wants Abbey Road Photo Op, Pharrell Williams Collaboration Would Make Yongguk 'Happy'

The top American producer B.A.P frontman Bang Yongguk thinks his group should work with might surprise some fans, many of whom know the South Korean stars for their edgy, even at times apocalyptic, image.


In a recent exclusive interview with B.A.P, for KpopStarz Japan, Yongguk picked prolific hitmaker Pharrell Williams, who produced and sang on the upbeat pop hits "Happy" and "Blurred Lines" as his top choice as a collaborator, implying perhaps, that he would like to see his group go in a lighter direction.


"I personally think it would be interesting to do music that B.A.P has not tried yet," Yongguk said about working with Pharrell.


"I would like to try pleasant music with him."


And Yongguk isn't the only member of B.A.P with a few rock star fantasies left.


Vocalist Kim Himchan expressed a desire to visit the iconic London recording studio Abbey Road, where The Beatles recorded throughout their career and outside of which took the album cover shot for their final studio masterpiece, bearing the same name.


Himchan became interested in the popular fan destination after B.A.P released the single "Goodbye" with an album cover that was an homage to The Beatles' "Abbey Road," using four different versions of B.A.P's cartoon rabbit band mascot Matoki.


"I would like to go to The Beatles' recording studio Abbey Road in London," said the singer.


If the group does make it to rock's most sacred ground, Himchan hinted that a new B.A.P homage to the seminal Beatles album cover might be in order.


"We did the parody for the album cover of the "Goodbye" single," he said. "It wasn't us walking on the road, but Matoki. So this time, we would like to try walking there."


It looks like Himchan just might get his wish. B.A.P kicked off their first-ever European tour on Sunday.

In February 2013, Teen Top held their first European tour, "TEEN TOP SHOW! Live tour in Europe 2013", making stops in Germany, England, France and Spain. The tour was successful that they gained a lot supporters from the continent which had wished and requested them to come back.


At last, the fans' cry were heard and just after a year and two months, the boys went back to Europe this month but visited new cities like Moscow and Budapest.

'Empress Qi' airs its finale while 'Big Man' premieres but which Mon-Tues drama came out on top this week?

After 51 episodes of love and war, 'Empress Qi' came to an end this week at #1!




According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the April 29th finale of MBC's 'Empress Qi' achieved a 28.7% viewer rating, which is a 2.5% increase from its previous viewer rating of 26.2%.


KBS 2TV's 'Big Man' premiered with a 6.0% viewer rating but fell 1.2% to 4.8% for its second episode. SBS' 'Curious Story Y Special' achieved a 4.4% viewer rating.


MBC's 'Triangle' will premiere following 'Empress Qi', and SBS' 'Doctor Stranger' will premiere as well on May 5!

On April 29, 15&'s Park Ji Min and Baek Ye Rin discussed the advantages of working together on the SBS radio program 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School'.


Park Ji Min said, "I'm a lot less nervous on stage because there are two of us. We even encourage each other by exchanging glances. I still get very nervous for live broadcasts, but I get a bit less nervous when I go up on stage."


Baek Ye Rin said, "It's different for each stage, but I'm much less nervous on big stages. I think I'm more nervous on small stages because the fans are closer."


Park Si Hwan gave his two cents on the adorable duo: "This is really nice to see.  I wanted to debut as part of a group too, so I'm envious."

Park Si Hwan talks about the difficulty of singing love songs as a 'motae solo'

On April 29, singer Park Si Hwan appeared as a guest on SBS radio show 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School' and talked about singing love songs despite having no dating experience as a 'motae solo'.


He said, "It is always my goal to get a girlfriend. When I get more free time after focusing on this album, I want to meet a lot of people. She might be someone among them." For his ideal type, he said he liked a woman with a pretty voice.


DJ Kim Chang Ryul then said, "You might not be able to capture the emotions when singing love songs." Park Si Hwan replied, "I, of course, used my imagination when singing songs. For this album, I used my experiences in one-sided love as the foundation."


He continued, "Although I am still young, I sang while thinking of my experiences with liking someone. When it's really hard to capture the emotion, I either watch a movie or listen to another person's experiences."
